I am currently PhD researcher in the second year in the Institute for Research in IT and Random Systems (IRISA) labs in France within the Shaman team and a contractual teacher in Enssat, a French graduate engineering school specializing in applied science and technology which is located in Lannion, Brittany, France. This thesis deals with the general problem of integrating and then analysing heterogeneous data, for instance stemming from internal data sources of a company and external sources like open data published on the Web. We tackle this subject in cooperation with a start-up named SEMSOFT (Rennes, FRANCE), which produces a software chain for heterogeneous data integration. For this purpose, we defined a fuzzy extension of the SPARQL language called FURQL that goes beyond the previous proposals in terms of expressiveness inasmuch as it makes it possible i) to deal with fuzzy RDF data model, and ii) to express fuzzy preferences on data and on the structure of the data graph. For our ongoing work, we aim to extend the FURQL language with fuzzy quantifiers like we did in a previous work for the FUDGE language and integrate to this framework quality-related metadata (about freshness, reliability and so on) which are in general of a fuzzy nature. This thesis is partially funded by the French DGE (Direction Générale des Entreprises) under the project ODIN (Open Data INtelligence).
